Our process

How we do it.

  1. Survey

We check moisture, level and what’s under the old floor before recommending a fitting method.

  2. Acclimatise

Boards rest in the room so they settle to your home’s temperature and humidity.

  3. Fit

Boards laid with staggered joints, expansion gaps hidden under skirting or beading.

  4. Detail

Thresholds, door trims and nosings finished to match.

Questions

Good to know.

Can’t see your question? Call us or send a note with your quote request.

Engineered or solid?

Solid wood can be sanded many times and suits stable, timber subfloors. Engineered has a real oak top layer on a stable core, so it copes better with underfloor heating and concrete slabs.

Can you fit over my old floor?

Sometimes. If the existing floor is flat and sound we can float over it. Otherwise we lift it and fit on a clean base.
