Parquet & herringbone
Parquet is where the craft shows. We set out every herringbone and chevron floor from a true centre line, so the pattern runs straight down the hall and meets the walls cleanly. New blocks or reclaimed, solid or engineered.

How we do it.
Set-out
We measure and mark the centre line so the pattern sits square to the room and doorways.
Subfloor
Moisture readings, levelling and the right adhesive for your subfloor and heating.
Laying
Blocks bonded one by one, borders cut in by hand.
Finish
Sanded flat once cured, then oiled or lacquered in the shade you chose.
Good to know.

Herringbone or chevron: what’s the difference?
Herringbone blocks are cut square and meet in a staggered zig-zag. Chevron blocks are cut at an angle, so they meet in a clean point. Chevron reads more formal; herringbone is a little warmer and busier.
Can parquet go over underfloor heating?
Yes, with engineered blocks and a suitable adhesive. We check the system and agree a warm-up schedule before we fit.
How long does a herringbone floor take?
A typical 20–30 m² room is laid in 2–3 days, with sanding and finishing after the adhesive has cured.
